Everyone actually goes in and out of a hypnotic state all day long. It is a very natural state. Have you ever been very emotionally engrossed in a movie or book, or were driving down the highway and you reach your exit before you know it? You were in hypnosis. The only difference with hypnotherapy is you are making the intention to use hypnosis for a very specific purpose and desire. The hypnotherapist is only a facilitator in the process. Just like listening to a meditation, the person leading the meditation is not meditating you, and in hypnotherapy, I am not really hypnotizing you. In both cases, you are just allowing yourself to enter a meditative or hypnotic state by follow my guidance. Most people who desire to be guided into hypnosis, will be successful in entering into the hypnotic state.

This is my most frequently asked question. The answer is it varies. It is not a one session deal. We are working on creating lasting lifelong changes of a behavior, emotional response or issue that most have had for a long time. Hypnotherapy is a process and requires multiple steps to create that lasting change. With the exception of smoking session, which begins with a 3 session package, every other issue I begin with 5 session packages and if more are needed we add on additional sessions at the package rate. Most people are successful with 3-5 smoking cessation sessions and 5-8 sessions for other issues. Others choose to continue to come in for monthly maintenance sessions to further their growth and expansion which is offered upon request.

There are many ways a hypnotist can assist someone in reaching the hypnotic state and it is important that the hypnotist be able to utilize the appropriate approaches for you and individualize the process. There may be a better match out there for you. Additionally, some hypnotists only utilize suggestive hypnosis which can be limited in results or not long lasting. I find both to be beneficial for different reasons. Recordings are a way to be guided into the hypnotic state and to allow your subconscious mind to take in the suggestions from the recording. Listening to recordings requires consistency and many days (30+) of repetition for the subconscious mind to start to accept and take in the suggestions. In person sessions gain benefits from the skills of the hypnotherapist who is trained in guiding you to the root cause of your issue. It is an interactive process between you and the hypnotherapist in addition to providing suggestions to reprogram your subconscious mind. These sessions are going to help you get to the root of the issue, be individualized to you, and help guide you during the process.

Psychotherapy sessions with me are very flexible and integrate most of my training and tools. These sessions spend more time focusing on a variety of issues, most include an emotional component as the main focus, as well as helping the client navigate current life circumstances. Coaching sessions are a combination of 5PATH® hypnosis sessions with coaching sessions to further assist behavior change and actions providing support and accountability. Most coaching sessions are focused on 1 main goal and assists the client in moving toward that goal. Psychotherapy sessions are provided in person only while coaching sessions are available in person, phone or video.

How do video sessions work?


Video sessions are a great way to participate in hypnosis without having to leave your home. Technology has allowed for much more flexibility in the fields of psychology, hypnosis and other service related fields. Sessions are conducted using Zoom, which is free and can be downloaded on your computer. Clients receive a handout on requirements for successful sessions before their first session. Minimal requirements include a computer with a camera, Zoom account, quiet environment where you won’t be disturbed during the session. Many people prefer online sessions from the comfort of their home and they have ben shown to be equally effective. I have received trainings in how to adapt hypnosis for online sessions.
